Get ready for another month of March
Madness in 2012 beginning with Selection Sunday scheduled this year on
March when top college teams are paired-off in the battle for the
NCAA Championship.
The tournament starts with 64 teams all
seeded from #1 to #16 in four different brackets (South, West, East,
North) and it's a single elimination tournament in which any team can
beat any team on a given day which adds to the overall atmosphere and
excitement.
Betting on college and pro basketball as the action is taken place, has become extremely popular over the course of the last couple of years. This kind of wagering is commonly known as live betting, or in play betting. Traditional basketball betting only allows you to....click here for more information!
The First Two Rounds:
The first and second rounds of the tournament are played in eight
cities, with each city hosting four first round games and two second
round games.
The first round is generally the most unpredictable, as
upsets are very commonplace. Both rounds can include some of the best
games of the tournament, especially when a powerful, highly-seeded team
gets all it can handle from a supposedly weaker team.
However, some of
the worst games can also be played in the first two rounds - often the
highly seeded team will beat the weaker team by 40 or 50 points.
Despite all the upsets that occur in the first two rounds, the four top
teams are almost certain to advance to the second round. Since the
tournament expanded to 64 teams, a number 16 seed has yet to beat a
number one seed. However, there have been a few close calls, the closest
of which came in 1989. Number one Georgetown barely hung on to defeat
number 16 Princeton 50 - 49 when Alonzo Mourning blocked two shots in
the final six seconds.
Second & Third Rounds:
Verizon Center, Washington, D.C. (Hosted by Georgetown University)
McKale Center, Tucson, AZ (Hosted by University of Arizona)
Pepsi Center, Denver, CO (Hosted by Mountain West Conference)
St. Pete Times Forum, Tampa, FL (Hosted by University of South Florida)
Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH (Hosted by Cleveland State University)
Time Warner Cable Arena, Charlotte, NC (Hosted by University of NC at Charlotte)
United Center, Chicago, IL (Hosted by Big Ten Conference)
BOK Center, Tulsa, OK (Hosted by University of Tulsa)
Regionals:
West Regional: Honda Center, Anaheim, CA (Hosted by Big West Conference)
Southeast Regional: New Orleans Arena, New Orleans, LA (Hosted by Tulane University)
Regionals:
Southwest Regional: Alamodome, San Antonio, TX (Hosted by University of TX San Antonio) East Regional: Prudential Center, Newark, NJ (Hosted by Seton Hall University)
The hardest part of beating the Sweet 16 odds is that, at this point,
each of the remaining teams is pretty good and nearly every game left on
the slate could go either way, turning the Sweet 16 into a bettors’
nightmare.
To beat the sportsbook
Sweet 16 odds, bettors should do their homework on each
remaining team. From looking at recent trends in team play to coaching,
and any other variables such as injuries, a hot player, or coach that
isn’t up to snuff, bettors should try to gather as much information as
possible about the remaining 16 teams in an effort to win as much as
possible for the remainder of the tournament.
College Basketball Teasers Betting
Basketball Teasers
The teaser is 1 bet consisting of 2 or more propositions bets in which you are allowed to adjust the point spread in your favor. If there is ANY loss in a teaser, the entire teaser results in a loss!! Otherwise, if the teaser contains a push, no action, or tie, the teaser will revert to the next amount of teams, paying the odds of the new teaser. In the case of a two-team teaser, if there is a push, no action, or tie, the wager will be refunded.
Bet March Madness Moneylines - NCAA
Moneyline Tournament Betting
When betting the basketball money line. It is based on just having the team win the game. No point spread is involved. An example would look like this. New York at Cleveland. Cavaliers are -5 with a total of 183. Cleveland is -210 on the money line while New York is +180. So if you like Cleveland on the money line you are risking 210 to win 100. If you like the Knicks, you are risking 100 to win 180. The moneyline is not as heavily bet in the NBA but is something you may want to add to your betting menu when you see a good opportunity.

There is not much secret in how First Half lines are derived; it is generally just the pointspread for the game cut in half with a half-point to full-point adjustment against the favorite.
It is very easy to find a team's total points for and against for the season as a total. Every newspaper and major
sports website provides this readily. What is tougher to find is a team's points for and against broken out by first half and second half.
